Well, 18 Faith Lutheran Youth are heading out of Big Ten college town Bloomington to serve others in and around Milwaukee.

Meet Alex and Bret.

They’ve begun a Rebelution. That’s right a revolution with rebels, Christian rebels.

Their theme verse is I Timothy 4:12 which Paul writes, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

They interperet this passage to mean that not only should youth not be looked down on, but youth are called to set examples.

Unfortunately society has been very good at telling teens that they’re slackers and that’s the role they should play.

Clearly, God has something special in store for all of us which he planned before time. We’ll be talking more about this idea, but in the meantime consider the calling to which He has called you.

A church in Sweden constructed a likeness of Christ with legos. In fact, he’s right there to the right.

Well the money is still rolling in, but we’ll call it a good $1,200. Can you believe that? People are still coming up to Leah and I and offering money to the cause.  What a great event.

OK, enough of the jabber, here’s what you really want to see, the fruits of your labor.

FLY Carolers at Jill's House in Bloomington

Singing slightly out-of-tune FLY brought a modicum of Christmas cheer to the residents at Jill’s House and members of Faith Lutheran Church that are unable to attend services regularly.

The dress was the most confusing part. Upon arrival, most folks thought we were part of a Pittsburgh marketing team with all the black and gold, not bearers of tidings of joy. Evidently only Leah and Peter are cheesy enough to wear Christmas red while caroling.

Also of note is the joy that Hannah got from writing Christmas messages on the couch. Notice the word “Merry”. Kinda wierd…

So, it was fun and we’ll definitely do it again next year. People really enjoyed it, especially at Bell Trace where we caught a member arriving early in the dining hall and entertained the whole place. Pretty cool.

Wow. We finally got the Jr. High pics up and running from the lockin last week.

Who can blame us in our old age of being so slow…

At any rate, I believe the pic shown here was taken around 3:15 am which might explain Leah’s exasperated look or the fact that Peter is about to fall over.

Or maybe it’s the fact that instead of chocolate covered marshmallows dropped into their mouths Leah got HUGE grapes dropped toward her open mouth and Peter has coffee creamer drizzled into his.

There’s more: an awesome video featuring Vicar egging on youth in the background is about to be posted so check back in another month and the elderly Iversens will probably have it up by then.

Third Day was ok. They played all the songs we’ve heard on Christian radio for years. They also lead us in wonderful worship and soulful prayer. Their tour pastor, also lead an impassioned plea to support the work of World Vision, especially in India.

However, far outpaced was the band Need to Breathe. They rocked with a southern style that all of FLY seemed to really enjoy, including the song below:
